**The position**:
**_ Paediatric Registrars (Advanced Trainees, Continuing Basic Trainees and Unaccredited Registrars) - The Royal Children’s Hospital._**

The registrar roster is comprised of several rotations to various departments within RCH and secondment hospitals, to ensure registrars have the best opportunity to complete their training requirements. Individual roster lines that are available for 2026 will be posted on the VPRAT website early - mid July. Registrar positions are mostly for 12 months commencing February 2026 and some 6 month positions might be available. All positions are full time. Job share positions are available but limited on selected rosters, as not all departments and hospitals can accommodate the flexibility of job share arrangements. Roster lines amenable to job-sharing will be clearly indicated when posted on the website.

Positions covered include general paediatrics at RCH, Monash Children’s Hospital (MCH) and five secondment hospitals, adolescent medicine, cardiology, developmental medicine, gastroenterology, rehabilitation, respiratory medicine, neurology/genetics, oncology, nephrology,(at RCH and MCH), neonatology (RCH), relief (locations vary), paediatric intensive care unit (RCH), psychiatry (at RCH and Austin Hospital), emergency medicine (at RCH and MCH) and nights (RCH and MCH).

Successful applicants will be employed by RCH and may work on rotation in positions at RCH or other accredited adjunct training locations on secondment.

**Eligibility**
- Applicants must have at least 24 months of paediatric experience, including at least 6 months of neonatology (note: no more than 12 months of neonatology will be considered in the 24 months of experience required)
- Applicants must be either advanced paediatric trainees, continuing basic trainees (i.e. completed all time-based BT requirements but not yet passed the exams), or unaccredited registrars. Obtaining a position via VPRAT will not enter trainees into Victorian Basic Paediatric Training and these positions will not be accredited for current Basic Trainees.
