We are seeking a Cafe Assistant/Barista to join our team in our Sydney Canteen Team The Cafe Assistant/Barista will ensure excellent customer service and assist the preparation of coffee and other cafe food/beverages. whilst ensuring we deliver great service and experiences to every member and visitor.

We are seeking a Cafe Assistant/Barista to join our team in our Sydney Canteen Team

The Cafe Assistant/Barista will ensure excellent customer service and assist the preparation of coffee and other cafe food/beverages whilst ensuring we deliver great service and experiences to every member and visitor. You will have a wide range of responsibilities to maintain the quality of our space and offerings, working alongside our Community Teams, that run our spaces on a day-to-day basis, you will play an integral part in maintaining our fantastic customer service standards while providing high-level barista service to customers.

The role is Full Time (38 Hours) per week Monday-Friday, so a bonus is no weekend work. The role will be based at one of our Canteen locations in the CBD or Surry Hills. The duties of this role include;
- ESSENTIAL: Must be Barista trained.
- Make consistently amazing coffee
- Connecting with members and provide positive memorable service
- Handle on-the-go food and beverages to members and their guests.
- Provide assistance with events and meetings spaces, and cater for guests when required

About you

You will bring prior cafe/restaurant experience, preferably serving a multitude of functions as a barista or wait staff. Some skills we are looking for include:

- Exceptional Customer Service skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills -The ability to strike up a conversation with ease
- Similar barista/wait experience in a restaurant or cafe (highly desired)
- Knowledge of coffee and ability to make various types of beverages
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to respond to various orders and queries from customers
- OPTIONAL: Experience working with La Marzocco coffee machines
