**2x - Full Time Permanent Position**

**Band 6 - Salary Range $95,073 to $103,531 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO**

**Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.**

**The Opportunity**

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the City Futures department for a Strategic Planner. You will report to the Coordinator of Strategic Planning and play a pivotal role within the strategic planning team, offering assistance and expertise in strategic land use planning, planning scheme interpretation, policy formulation, project management, research, community engagement, and consultation.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide advice to the public, developers and the clients of Council in relation to the provisions of the Melton Planning Scheme, Council planning policies, strategies and planning procedures.
- Prepare project briefs and where required manage the work undertaken by external consultancies.
- Review and monitor local policy provisions of the Melton Planning Scheme.
- Undertake research and strategic investigations relating to the planning and development across the Council operating area.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Tertiary qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline with some relevant experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of strategic land use planning principles and land development issues in urban growth areas.
- Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to communicate effectively and politely with customers.
- Familiarity with community consultation practices, stakeholder engagement strategies, and methods for incorporating public feedback into planning processes.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
