Auslan Tutor

**Southern Support Family is focused on delivering home care, home maintenance and allied health services.**
**We also cater for many clients with diverse needs such as the home care package recipients, NDIS participates and those who are culturally & linguistically diverse and those in care facilities.**

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Auslan Tutor to provide tailored Australian Sign Language (Auslan) tutoring to one of our aged clients on casual basis.

Duties Include:

- Conduct one-on-one Auslan tutoring sessions with the aged client based on their individual needs and preferences.
- Develop personalized lesson plans and materials to support the client's learning goals and objectives.
- Implement engaging and interactive teaching methods to enhance the client's proficiency in Auslan.
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and feedback to the client to facilitate their progress and development.

About you:

- Diploma qualification in Australian Sign Language (Auslan) or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Auslan and comprehensive knowledge of deaf culture and communication needs.
- Previous experience working as an Auslan tutor or in a similar role, preferably within the aged care sector.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with hearing impairments.
- Flexibility to adapt teaching methods and strategies to meet the unique needs and learning styles of the client.
