About us
Juries Victoria (JV) is made up of the Juries Commissioner and approximately 20 staff in Melbourne and across regional Victoria. In Melbourne, JV sits within the Supreme Court of Victoria but operates from the County Court of Victoria.
JV staff are appointed under the Public Administration Act 2004 and the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016. JV seeks to ensure that there are a sufficient number of Victorian citizens who are eligible and available to serve as jurors in criminal and civil trials.
About the role
- Work collaboratively with the JV team and the Supreme Court and County Court judicial staff to meet the demands of jury trials and support citizens through their jury journey.
- Assist in the instruction, direction, organisation, balloting and escorting of prospective jurors, to and from court.
- Liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, such as associates, tipstaves and jurors.
- Occasionally travel to regional courts across Victoria on a rostered basis to assist in the coordination of jury empanelments at those locations.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

- Excellent customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the team to achieve the collective goals.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely when providing information to key stakeholders and deal with challenging behaviour firmly but politely.
- Organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Willingness to work onsite on most days (with an option to work remotely from time-to-time).
- Experience working in an office environment is highly regarded.
