Here at IHCC, we are seeking passionate and dedicated support workers to provide essential care, support, and assistance to individuals with disabilities to help them achieve greater independence, well-being, and community participation.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Assisting people to perform important daily activities.
- Facilitating daily personal hygiene and dressing tasks, also known as personal care.
- Performing home-based tasks such as food preparation and cleaning.
- Undertaking tasks outside the home such as shopping and community access.
- Ensuring varied programs of activities within the home.
- Providing emotional support and companionship, whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
- Incorporate child safe standards in their practice when working with children and young people.
- Report any real or potential risks of harm to a participant, including children and young people.
- Transporting participants to and providing support during appointments.

**Specific Experience Required**:

- Manual handling; hoisting, slide sheets and transfers.
- Diabetes management including insulin injections and finger prick testing.
- Understanding of dementia.
- Catheter care.
- Food intake management in accordance with Mealtime Managment Plan e.g. thickened fluids.
- Bowel and urine output recording.
- Knowledge of wound care.
- Ability to cook healthy meals.

**Skills**:

- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with various ages, cultures and ability levels
- Ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
- Ability to follow organisational policies and procedures.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritise.
- Ability to use Shiftcare, Microsoft Office suite of programs and other computer systems for record-keeping.
- Excellent problem solving and conflict management skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships.

**What is required**:

- Current NDIS Worker Screening and WWCC, or willing to obtain
- New Worker NDIS Induction Module
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Driver's License
- Reliable and comprehensively insured and registered vehicle
- Smartphone for learning module access

**Please note**: A formal certificate may not be required if the individual has relevant experience and skills.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: From $36.00 per hour
