Join us as Trades Assistant for our Motion Business Area where you will be responsible for electrical or mechanical repair by using all types of basic hand tools, and be able to disassemble, reassemble, replace parts & assemblies as well as use measuring equipment accurately. You will be working independently and have a high regard for quality of work, safety, and the environment, and working in a team. This position will be based in Eagle Farm, Australia.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Working accurately to a job scope prepared by the works manager and competently use a TIG welding machine
- Carrying out dismantling of electrical rotating equipment, electrical testing and assisting with rewinding and repairing of static and rotating components of electric traction motors
- Recommending changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
- Referring to management for any clarification required during the service activities and notifies the quality team of quality issues discovered.
- Providing recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service
- Conducting detailed inventories and inspections to determine necessary consumables and tool levels to ensure consistent job completion
- Ensuring safe working procedures and practices are always followed, including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment; attendance at required health, safety, and environment training; report injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events. Model safe work behavior in all aspects of work and actively identify hazards and risk control

**Your background**:

- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a repair shop
- Experience in operating various welding machines and able to use measuring equipment accurately
- Passion for safety, health, and environment and quality of work
- Able to be flexible and work in a team environment
- Experience working in an electric motor repair facility and rotating electrical equipment component repair is an added advantage
