**Role Description**

As an external auditor, you will have the opportunity to work on your own clients and mentor juniors along the way. You will have the chance to refine and develop your skills, working across a diverse portfolio including registered clubs, independent private schools, manufacturing, transport and not-for-profit organisations. Some audits are straight forward, where you will go onsite as the lead, others may be complex or larger audits where you will work along-side other senior audit team members. Either way, the work will be diverse and holistic, give you extensive exposure to all components of the audit from start to finish.

**Responsibilities**
- Establishing audit objectives, executing the audit plan, designing and implementing audit methodologies, processes and risk programs to address the audit report criteria
- evaluating the cost effectiveness and risks of operational processes, activities, policies and systems
- Identifying and reporting to management on the existence and effectiveness of the system of internal controls with recommendations
- Preparing financial statements and reports for management, shareholders, statutory bodies and those charged with governance.
- Organising and giving notice of and attending meetings with boards of directors, members and shareholders
- Identifying, managing and reporting on financial and operational risks to management and those charged with governance
- Advising organisations' governing boards on matters concerning compliance with relevant legislation and corporation practice.
- Supervising organisations' share capital by preparing documents and share issues, and handling share transfers with ASIC
- Controlling treasury and treasury systems and establishing and reviewing risk management objectives and treasury policies
- Devising, re-organising and establishing budgetary cost control and other accounting systems such as computer-based systems

**Skills & Experience**
- Ideally you will be an experienced, proactive and team focused professional with external audit experience as senior external auditor.
- You will have high attention to detail with methodical problem solving ability.
- Strong communication skills and ability to perform under pressure.
- Your communication style is polite and professional, responding in a timely manner to clients.
- Be passionate about contributing to a great team culture as you are about serving clients and making a difference.

**Qualifications**:

- Commerce / Accounting degree and CA/CPA qualifications.
- Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
- Caseware software experience is ideal but not essential.

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 package depending on the level of experience. This is a full-time permanent role.
