**Your new team**

AustralianSuper’s PE strategy is to be a trusted capital partner alongside our strategic partners (PE GP’s) across fund commitments, co-investments and co-underwrites. The Private Equity team have a global operating model with presence in Australia and New York originating and managing a growing portfolio of over A$14bn.

**Your new role**

The appointee will be part of the Melbourne team responsible for deepening partnerships with existing PE GP’s and developing new GP relationships, sourcing co-underwrite and co-investment opportunities, evaluating and executing investments in PE funds, co-investment and co-underwrites and managing/monitoring the PE portfolio. This role requires a strong understanding of private equity, strong commercial and investment skills, and experience in executing investment transactions.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Support the development and maintenance of relationships and the sourcing of co-underwrite and co
- investment opportunities with incumbent GPs and a shortlist of other GPs.
- Build effective relationships within AustralianSuper to assist in the execution and management of private equity fund investments, co-investment and co-underwrites across Equities and internal support functions.
- Contribute to the due diligence, negotiation, execution and closing processes for PE fund investment, co-investment and co-underwrite opportunities to tight timelines including the appointment of external advisers (as appropriate) and management of the internal approval process.
- Take responsibility for developing expertise and insights into a chosen sector to be used in investment sourcing, due diligence and portfolio management
- Prepare internal investment papers, analysis and other materials required to progress each opportunity through the investment process.
- Support the transaction analysis and assessment of private equity co-investment and co-underwrite opportunities (including unlisted transactions and take-privates alongside sponsor GPs).
- Support the delivery of investment performance in line with portfolio objectives.
- Participate in the management and monitoring of the PE fund investments, co-investments and co
- underwrite investments, including attending quarterly monitoring meetings and Board/LPAC meetings as appropriate.

**What you’ll need**
- Tertiary degree qualified.
- 7+ years of investment or investment-related experience.
- Strong fundamental equity analysis skills including financial modelling skills and financial acumen.
- People and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across the Investment Department.
- Strong written, oral communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to plan, prioritise and manage resources (time, people, budget) to achieve objectives.
