**The Average Day**:
Percussion Music Teachers are expected to provide expert guidance and professional support to students in developing their skills and passion for percussion.

Duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the specific needs of the program, with the Percussion Music Teacher working under the guidance of the Department Coordinator and Head of Performing Arts to align with Carey’s dynamic and engaging Music curriculum.

**The Person**:
To be successful in this position, you will have:

- Outstanding musicianship
- A passion for engaging young people in music education
- Well organised, accurate, creative and innovative with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to create a rapport with staff, parents and students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Teaching qualifications are highly desirable

**_Valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration or Working with Children Check (WWCC) is a requirement of employment in this position. _**
