About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join our Aircraft Sustainment and Training based at Williamtown, NSW reporting to the Procurement Manager of F-35
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
You will be responsible for to establish, place and manage the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver cost, schedule, and quality and safety requirement of the business.
Working across all aspects of building affective relationship and managing performance of the suppliers to maximise value and minimise risk.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Manage the procurement lifecycle of end to end tender management ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms
- Support the procurement engagement activities including but not limited to procurement strategy, expressions of interest, requests for information, RFx (tenders), supplier negotiations strategy and contract development and execution
- Manage the approval, maintenance and close out of purchase orders ensuring timely payment, delivery and coordinate and contribute to the development and execution of procurement plans and sourcing strategies
- Lead supplier negotiations and finalise supplier agreements and purchase orders in accordance with the set procedure and delegation of authority
- Ensure adherence to contractual obligations through effective contract management including payment, claims, warranties, cash flow, flow-down of contract amendments
- Identify and manage supplier risks and opportunities and proactively engage with key suppliers to enhance capability and efficiency
- Generate and manage life cycle management (LCM) procurement plan and subcontract management plan, where appropriate
- Provide management reports and support to create and maintain contract management plans where required
About YOU
- Demonstrated relevant experience in strategic procurement especially in managing end-to-end procurement activity in a complex environment is essential
- Strong oral and written communication skill with an ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer requirements
- Strong stakeholder management skill, results orientated, focusing on the key objectives and striving for effective outcomes
- Sound commercial acumen with some exposure to contract management or negotiation and some flexibility to attend out of hours meetings based on European interfaces.
- Proficient user of Ms Office package and Oracle / Ultramain experience is desirable with an ability to run reports and interpret data
- Whilst not essential, degree qualification in procurement/supply chain or commercial discipline, with professional procurement qualification or a membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) is desirable
