**About the program**

**StandBy Support After Suicide is Australia’s leading suicide postvention program dedicated to assisting people and communities bereaved or impacted by suicide.**The program offers coordinated evidence-based support and resources (including connections to local services and groups) that is individualised for each person’s unique circumstance. This support is continued for up to two years to ensure those that engage with StandBy are not alone and receive ongoing support. StandBy builds community preparedness and resilience through extensive training to community and professional groups to ensure effectiveness and that duplicated effort is avoided. The program is also ideally placed to offer a settings-based approach, providing group support after a suicide for schools, workplaces and community groups.

We are seeking a Regional Co-ordinator for this new initiative, the StandBy After Suicide program. This involves delivery of the StandBy program throughout Metropolitan Melbourne

**About the role**

The StandBy After Suicide Regional Coordinator is responsible for coordination of the StandBy Service across the Metropolitan Melbourne area. This includes coordinating, overseeing and delivering support for people bereaved or impacted by suicide, community engagement, education and training, as well as leading the StandBy team in the area.

There is a full-time role and the successful applicant must reside within Melbourne

**Desired Skills and Experience**:

- leadership and program coordination
- working with people bereaved through suicide or experience in dealing with acute personal trauma and/or bereavement
- consulting and working collaboratively with communities and other stakeholders
- delivery of community development, education and capacity building initiatives
- capacity to work collaboratively with partner organisations and with the leadership of Jesuit Social Services.
- ability to work independently and flexibly according to changing needs and demands.
