Casual -Cleaner / Kitchen Hand/ Laundry Assistant

**About the role**

We are looking for a diligent and hardworking Casual multitasker who is willing to do Cleaner / Laundry Assistant/ Kitchen Hand shifts. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and organization of our facilities and assisting with cleaning duties to ensure a high standard of service and prepare resident's meals according to the dietary/care plans in accordance with developed menus while ensuring to follow the correct food handling techniques.

**About the Facility**

Aegis Parkview is a 79-bed Facility situated on Drummond Street in Redcliffe. Drummond was a botanist and the four wings are named after native Australian plants. Accommodation comprises of extra service and dementia care wings. All rooms are single with a large ensuite bathroom and air conditioning. The different wings all have their own lounge and dining areas with large individual courtyards. The facility is surrounded by well-maintained gardens.

**About You**

You should ideally be an empathetic person who:

- Enjoys working with the elderly.
- Can work independently and as part of a team.
- Is reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
- Has availability and flexibility to work a variety of shifts over weekdays and weekends.
- Has good communication skills and interpersonal skills.

**With cleaning, you will need to have**:

- Prior cleaning experience in a health care setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of infection control principles and commercial cleaning operations, including the safe use of chemicals.
- Knowledge and prior experience in relation to laundry services(desirable).
- Good communication skills.
- Have full Australian working rights and able to pass a national police clearance.

**With kitchen hand shifts, you will need to have**:

- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in Healthcare Industry).
- Experience in food preparation and cooking for large number of people.
- A knowledge of food safety.
- Full Australian working rights and able to pass national police clearance.

**Key Responsibilities as a cleaner/laundry assistant**:

- Perform daily cleaning tasks in client rooms, common areas, and bathrooms
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in all areas, including floors, windows, and furniture
- Ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and well-maintained
- Assist with laundry services as needed
- Follow strict hygiene and safety protocols
- Report any maintenance issues or damage promptly to management
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the best care for our clients

**Key Responsibilities as a kitchen hand**:

- Preparing resident’s meals according to dietary / care plans in accordance with developed menus.
- Maintaining a clean working environment in accordance with infection control guidance.
- Ensuring correct food handling techniques are always observed
