**About the role**

The MID Directorate at SA Pathology is a dynamic laboratory covering all sub-specialty areas in infectious diseases diagnostics, including a whole genome sequencing (WGS) service and references laboratories for mycobacteria and fungi. This advertisement is for 2 positions with a total of 1.2 FTE between the two positions, to be allocated based on need and individual job requirements.

There is a potential for contract extension due to retirements. The roles will be to provide clinical microbiology services across the SA Pathology network including in the central laboratories at Royal Adelaide Hospital and Frome Road and at the Flinders Medical Centre. There is a preference for dual certification (FRCPA-Clinical Microbiology and FRACP-Infectious Diseases) but alternate arrangements could be made for an FRCPA-only-trained specialist.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Current National Police Clearance (NPC)
- Working With Children Check (DHS)
- Immunisation screening as indicated in the role description. SA Health Services are required to implement the Addressing vaccine preventable disease: Occupational assessment, screening and vaccination policy in the workplace.

Educational/Vocational Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent Specialist Medical registration in Australia: Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
