**Ward Clerk - 5North and Complex Care Unit (CCU)**

The Royal Women’s Hospital is Australia’s first and largest specialist hospital dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of newborns and women of all ages. To join the Women’s is to be instrumental in forging progress towards health equity for women from ground-breaking research through to the bedside delivery of multi-disciplinary clinical care.

Creating exceptional experiences is at the heart of everything we do for our patients, their families, and our people across our specialised services within maternity, neonatal and women’s health.

The Women’s hospital offers treatment for all gynaecological conditions and is a tertiary referral centre for women with chronic pelvic pain, issues related to menopause, pelvic floor problems or other urogynaecological problems. Women with medical complications in the early part of pregnancy are cared for by the gynaecology units. The Women’s also cares for women who are having a termination of pregnancy or who have complications related to reproductive biology such as IVF.

5 North is a 22 bed ward and complex care is 2 beds. The major areas of focus for the cancer service are gynaecological and breast cancer. Our clerical staff work across all these services.

**Your contribution**

The Clerk is responsible for the provision of excellent customer service and quality, effective and efficient administration services to the Hospital.
- Provide excellent customer service,
- Provide high quality data entry, word processing and general administration,
- Ensure the efficient and effective service operations by performing all the responsibilities and duties outlined in position discription.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Registration of patients
- Booking and scheduling patients
- Facilitate real time patient movement through IPM and EPIC
- Assist in all aspects of reception duties
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and communicates well with patients and their significant others, colleagues, medical staff and ancillary staff, ensuring a high commitment to customer service

**About you**

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

- Previous experience in clerical duties
- Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer literacy

In line with the Health Services Amendment (Mandatory Vaccination of Healthcare Workers) Act 2020, some health care workers are now required to have their flu vaccination to work in health care. Evidence of vaccination is required.

As this role fits into category A or B of the departments risk ratings, applicants will be required to have been vaccinated against influenza. Evidence of vaccination is required.
