Our site in Newcastle is home to the Home Care Package program, Short Term Restorative Care, which provides individually planned and coordinated supports and services for older people to remain living life independently, the way they would like.
It is also home to our Social Activity Group, a planned activity group which aims to maintain an older person to continue living at home and in the community. EACH Social Activity Groups offer a planned program of structured activities that also provides respite and support for their carers.

**About the role**
Support for older adults involves assisting them to live independently, fully, and with dignity. As part of our team in **Hamilton North**, Newcastle we are looking for **casual **(possibility of becoming permanent)** Support Workers** to assist our older adult clients, supporting them to maintain and develop their independence so that they can lead enriching and fulfilling lives.

We are open to hearing from experienced and new (with the relevant qualification) Support Workers - Training available.

**What you’ll be doing**
You will deliver high-quality individualised support to older people in the community. The support you provide may include:

- Following and implementing individual service plans, healthcare, and positive behaviour support plans for members of our community in their homes.
- Providing companionship, conversation, and emotional support.
- Supporting with personal care in the client's home, such as shopping, laundry, cleaning, bill paying, home maintenance, or meal preparation.
- Assisting with transport to attend appointments.
- Supporting the person to participate in community events or recreational activities and social outings.

**Who we are looking for**
If you're a Support Worker or looking to become a Support Worker, qualified as a Cert IV in Disability or Allied Health, or Cert III in Individual Support or Aged Care, and want to have a positive impact on the lives of older adults, you might be exactly the person we're looking for

In line with your commitment to customer care, you will also be an effective communicator and relationship builder, with well-developed literacy, numeracy, and digital technology skills and experience delivering high-quality person-centred support and assistance to individuals, embracing their personal goals and choices, and respecting cultural diversity.

You will also be effective working both independently and collaboratively with your team, clients, their carers, families, and other service providers, with a demonstrated ability to complete administrative tasks to the required standard and detail to meet quality and reporting requirements. A current driver’s licence and compliance with current Covid-19 vaccination requirements is also needed to be successful in this role.
