**The Opportunity**

The **Principal Geometallurgist** will provide leadership and the technical development for the ongoing management of spatially and geologically based predictive models to allow for mitigation of geometallurgical risks through the operations and planning process.

This role involves having strong stakeholder engagement with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, playing a critical role overseeing deliverables and product predictions for our Lithium and Iron Ore Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sources data, conducts analysis and identifies trends to support business unit decision making.
- Supports planning and projects teams by developing predictive geometallurgy models and communicating the outputs and connections between the geology and metallurgical properties to relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitates the Integration of the geometallurgical analysis into the mine planning process to enable the teams to maximise value, streamline process variability and reduce uncertainty.
- Designs and manages geometallurgical test work programs and delivers insights for future mining areas, for basis of design inputs and for assessment of process improvement projects and studies.
- Completion of project and due diligence project reviews as needed
- Advancement of new tehcniques through interna/external support for use of machine learning and AI to enhance predictive modelling.
- Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders

**What is Required**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Process Engineering, or Geoscience
- Sound understanding of metalliferous processing technology and practices
- Proficient understanding of operational aspects relevant to geometallurgy - geological setting and rock characterisation, mining operations, mine planning, and processing.
- Experience in developing flowsheets and determining predictive geometallurgy models
- Exposure to multiple operations and commodities particularly with respect to rock characterization, mining and processing
- Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
