Technical Writer

Due to a consistent and steady rate of company growth; the result of existing and newly awarded work. We have a requirement for a Technical Writer to join our Malaga office in Perth, on a Full-Time basis

The primary objective of this role is to liaise with various departments and value streams to assist with researching and collecting technical information, revising, or creating various documents such as checklists, procedures, training material and safety documentation. In addition, you will be required to review and/or create processes and systems to facilitate improvements and changes across various departments and value streams. Extensive electrical testing experience is critical for this role as you will need to draw from this experience and pass on your knowledge.

**Secondary roles**:

- Ability to assist with occasional testing activities.
- Assist with providing technical support.
- Assist Technical Service Managers with test report QA checks in peak periods.

**Experience, skills and qualifications**:

- Greater than 5 years relevant experience on HV/LV systems testing and commissioning.
- Practical knowledge of HV/LV power generation and transmission and distribution commissioning and operations.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding as well as the ability to interpret complex drawings and manuals.
- Fully competent with testing and commissioning of electrical systems and the use of associated test equipment.
- Strong technical writing skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines in addition to proven technical editing and proof-reading skills.
- Advanced Excel and Word, able to produce reports, documents and manipulate spread sheets.
- A keen eye for detail and time management.
- Knowledge and understanding of Australian Standards, Acts and Regulations.
- Strong knowledge of all HSE requirements.

**Qualifications**:

- Must hold ‘A Grade’ electrical workers license, relevant trade certificate, diploma or engineering degree.
