**About the Opportunity**
SWSLHD is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader to oversee the BreastScreen Service—a vital population-based screening program dedicated to early detection and improved outcomes for women aged 50-74. With a network of fixed and mobile screening units and a central assessment centre in Liverpool, this service is a cornerstone of our commitment to safe, high-quality, and personalised care.

As Director, you’ll be responsible for:

- Driving performance to meet targets under the BreastScreen NSW and Cancer Institute agreement
- Leading a multidisciplinary team across a large and diverse region
- Ensuring compliance with National Accreditation Standards
- Championing clinical governance, quality, and risk management
- Building strong links with other clinical services and community partners
- Enhancing participation rates, especially among Aboriginal and CALD communities
- Contributing to strategic planning and population health initiatives

**What You'll be Doing**
The Director - Breastcreen is responsible for providing overall management of staffing and performance of the BreastScreen Service in South Western Sydney Local Health District. BreastScreen provides a breast screening and assessment service to women through a network of fixed and mobile screening units throughout the south west of Sydney and a central assessment centre located in Liverpool. BreastScreen operates under a performance and funding agreement between BreastScreen NSW, Cancer Institute and SWSLHD. The performance and funding agreement specifies screening and other targets to be achieved by the service in a given period. The Service aims to offer a world-class population-based screening program to women who reside within the boundaries of the Service, specifically targeting women aged 50-74 years.

**Where You'll Be Working**
SWSLHD Population Health aims to protect and promote the health of the local population, reduce health inequalities, and achieve optimal health and wellbeing for all residents of South Western Sydney.

The services provided include prevention, early intervention, and health promotion programs designed to help individuals and families adopt healthy behaviours and avoid illness. The team works in partnership with the community to create health-promoting physical and social environments, ensuring accessible, fair, and culturally appropriate services.

**How to Apply**
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent relevant experience, with demonstrated experience in health service management and a proven track record in the delivery of health care.
- An understanding of and a commitment to the goals of NSW BreastScreen.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in strategic and business planning and an ability to successfully manage a large operating and capital budget.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff and implement and maintain performance management systems
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
