Join us in making a difference **_ The Role_** The Day Club Assistant provides small group activities implementation and facilitation along with the provision of personal support and care to Club Clients. This position is offered on a **Part Time basis** working in our **Day Club - Catherine King in Osbourne Park.** We are looking for a Day Club Assistant that will be available **Wednesday & Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm,**working **30 hours per fortnight.** **_ Key responsibilities:_** - Perform all duties and interactions with management, staff, residents and their families, visiting health professionals and any other person in the work environment - Support the maintenance or restoration of the client’s independence - Drive a day club van to collect clients from their residence and back, outings in the community - Assists the client with maintaining personal hygiene including dental hygiene, laundering personal items, dressing, grooming, toileting and continence hygiene needs - Provides appropriate support as documented in specific care plans in regard to medication, nutrition, mobility, social and behavioural and personal care - Plans programs and collaborates with colleagues to present activities - Maintains open and respectful communication in the workplace with all other staff and colleagues - Attends and actively participates in compulsory training sessions and meetings as required by Coordinator **_ About you_** The work undertaken by a Day Club Assistant involves constant physical activity varying from a low to high intensity but predominantly of low-medium intensity. There main role involves conducting programs to promote and / or maintain function through individual and group activity sessions. **_ Essential Criteria:_** - Evidence of COVID-19 and Current Flu vaccinations per Amana Living policies - Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance _(within 6-months validity)_ - Successful completion of pre-employment physical and reference checks - Valid ‘C’ Class Driver’s License and personal vehicle - Experience working with people with dementia - Certificate III in Individual Support / Community Service (Aged Care) or equivalent _(desirable)_ - Senior First Aid Certificate _(desirable)_ **_ How to apply_** - If you are interested in this role and meet the essential criteria, please click the "" button.
