This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a progressive organisation recognised for its commitment to excellence, innovation and person-centred dementia care. Reporting to the Dementia Services Manager you will be instrumental in implementing and sustaining an effective dementia strategy - supporting residents living with dementia, their families and the staff who care for them. Your work will help promote meaningful engagement, wellbeing and quality of life for those living with cognitive change. We are particularly keen to hear from Registered Nurses and Allied Health professionals with specialist skills and passion for dementia care. Along with effective interpersonal skills, leadership capabilities, qualifications in an Allied Health discipline or Nursing, and strong computer literacy, we will be looking for you to demonstrate (at a minimum) the following: - Extensive dementia knowledge, including differential diagnosis and factors that exacerbate dementia including comorbidities and their interactions - Minimum of 4 years of experience working in an inpatient or aged care setting treating behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, as well as various mental health conditions presenting in people 65 years and older - Extensive knowledge of external community and healthcare services and agencies, tools, techniques and resources available to optimise client, carer and staff wellbeing - Comprehensive understanding of restrictive practices, including the principles of least-restrictive and person-centred approaches, and the ability to support teams in implementing proactive, non-restrictive strategies that uphold residents’ dignity and rights - Excellent skills in supporting dignity of risk and harm reduction strategies to support person-centred care - Understanding of advance care planning, substitute decision-making, and relevant policy and legislation to uphold residents’ rights Practice in a culturally responsive and safe manner across culturally diverse client groups - Excellent skills in facilitating education for best practice dementia care utilising various training modes - Sound knowledge about trauma-informed care **About Us**: Montefiore is an award-winning, Sydney-based aged care provider, with a proud 135-year history as a non-profit organisation founded on Jewish values.
