**Position Information**:
Kurri Kurri Public School is located in the Cessnock Network in the Hunter Valley. The school has an enrolment of 614 students, including four support unit classes. 25% of the students identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. The school was opened in 1904 and continues to strengthen strong local links to the community including the Korreil Wonnai AECG and Kurri Kurri Community Services. We are proud members of the Kurri Kurri Local Management Group with our four local primary schools and local high school. The staff are committed to providing quality education to all students through differentiated programs and working in a collaborative team environment. The school prides itself on providing evidence-based professional learning to enhance the capacity of all staff to enhance schooling outcomes for all students. Students are provided with opportunities to participate in extra-curricula activities including sports, performing and creative arts, cultural programs and enrichment activities. Our school expectations support students to follow the school values: learning, caring and respect.
**Selection Criteria**:
1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and primary with a demonstrated ability to be a dynamic member of a large executive team to lead initiatives that address whole school strategic planning, whilst maintaining exemplary classroom practice.
2. Evidence of instructional leadership to inspire, lead and empower evidence-based literacy and numeracy programs with a focus on collaborative practice, to enhance student learning and engagement.
3. An approachable leader, who promotes a culture of high expectations and belonging with a demonstrated ability to enhance the well-being needs of all students, staff, and community through positive partnerships.
4. Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and build the capacity of individuals and stage teams as a supervisor, educational leader and mentor.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
