It’s an exciting time for tennis in Australia and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. We are transforming how we deliver tennis, with the aim of making it more accessible, to more people, more often. To help us achieve our plan we are looking for a Schools & Pathway Manager to join our team at Tennis South Australia on a full time, ongoing basis.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Tennis Development & Venues, this role is responsible for influencing the growth of tennis participation by strategically enhancing transitional grassroots opportunities from learning the game, to playing the game. The Schools & Pathway Manager is a hands on, people facing role with a genuine advocacy for making positive change in the community and promoting inclusiveness for all within the sport.

In this role you will:

- Evaluate and monitor the uptake and impact of the school programs rolled out in SA with a particular focus on transition from school to club participation
- Develop relationships with coaches and deliverers to drive participation growth
- Integrate a holistic player pathway at local venues to enhance player retention
- Support schools in developing tennis plans which may include teacher education, competition development and facility development
- Liaise with the coach development team on the professional development opportunities for coaches working in schools
- Ensure Tennis has an active presence within the sporting school’s environment, including presenting at teacher and coach forums
- Advocate for making positive change in the community by promoting inclusive and sustainable tennis pathways for all

About you

What you will bring to the role:

- A love of the sport and a strong desire to contribute significantly to the growth of tennis
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to evoke the cooperation of stakeholders across a wide range of organisations including volunteers, coaches, LGA’s and schools.
- An understanding of the tennis coaching industry and external influences affecting the delivery of sport and participation
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, strong self-awareness to work in a challenging and changing environment
- Alignment with the Tennis values of Excellence, Humility, Collaboration and Imagination
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
