**About the area**
The Office of Industry and Commercial Development (OICD) provides professional and expert support services to facilitate research excellence and knowledge transfer at the University. It is at the forefront in executing the University‘s research strategy and growing the impact and
revenue from research translation. The OICD team promote and develop the University’s research profile through active engagement with researchers and industry to commercialise the University’s research and intellectual property (IP).
**About the opportunity**
- Work closely with researchers and internal stakeholders to identify, protect, develop, and commercialise IP created at the University, with a focus on the life science sector.
- Manage a portfolio of IP, build relationships with researchers to identify IP and assist with the commercialization of IP through patenting, licensing and formation of spin-outs.
- You will assist in the development of commercialisation plans, negotiate related contracts, and engage with industry and investors to drive research translation outcomes in the life science sector.
**About you**
- Research commercialisation experience and/or relevant commercial experience in industry.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a life science or related discipline or demonstrated equivalent competency.
- Experience with patenting, licensing and start-up companies is desirable.
- Knowledge of national and international funding programs available to facilitate commercialisation is desirable.
