Canberra, Australia Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) Full time

This role will report to the Project Manager of the Australian Capital Territory Audit of Surgical Mortality and South Australian Audit of Surgical Mortality. The audits are supported and funded by the ACT Health Directorate and the South Australian Department for Health and Welfare and includes both public and private hospitals.

The Project Officer will help facilitate the activities of the audit. As well as administrative duties, this will require effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders, analysis and interpretation of data collected by the audit, participation in research activities, and the drafting of reports and manuscripts as needed. Given the nature of the data being collected confidentiality will be required.

The role will be offered on a 1.0 FTE. This role is a fixed term 12 month role initially, dependent on continued funding.

**Skills and experience**
- Understand study design, research methods, and ability to analyse and interpret data.
- Be competent in reading and understanding scientific/medical research.
- Have the ability to use Microsoft Office software, spreadsheet, database and reference management software.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent majoring in health science.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
