About the opportunity

Join the team at Werribee Mercy Hospital, a dynamic public hospital located in the vibrant and fastest growing corridor of Victoria.

As an Orthopaedic Registrar in our cutting-edge Orthopaedics Unit, you will have the opportunity to coordinate day-to-day operations, lead patient management decisions, collaborate closely with our senior medical staff, and stay up to date with the latest orthopaedic knowledge, research and skills. ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Coordinating and managing the day-to-day operations of the unit, including supervision of junior medical staff, and ensuring that learning objectives are met in accordance with specialist college training requirements.- Making critical decisions related to patient management, leading daily ward rounds, and ensuring that all patients are assessed and treated in a timely manner.- Maintaining close communication and collaboration within the unit, particularly regarding patients requiring urgent and ongoing care.- Thoroughly documenting patient information in the health record, reviewing patient progress regularly, and developing a discharge plan that is communicated with all relevant parties.- Keeping up to date with medical knowledge and skills, participating in quality improvement and audit activities, and performing other duties as required by the Medical Workforce.- Be involved in at least two research projects so as to present them at the Annual AOA meeting and either the summer or winter Victoria state meeting.
