**About the role**

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Street Cleaning Team Leader to coordinate and lead the activities of a multi-skilled team in the provision of clean-up and maintenance services to our residents and the community of Woollahra Council.

As the Team Leader - Street Cleaning, reporting to the Coordinator Business Centres & Street Cleaning, you will manage a team of approximately eight staff and you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of maintenance and cleaning of streets to a set schedule, as well as the collection of clean up material.

You will also be required to:

- **Carry out responses to service complaints and action requests.****:

- **Inspect open space facilities and maintain and clean as necessary.****:

- **Remove weeds from all public footpaths, walkways and traffic devices.****:

- **Provide timely reports to the Coordinator on staff performance issues.****:

- **Monitor staff performance, including attendance, compliance with Council’s policies and achievement of job targets.****:

- **Identify and report promptly to the Coordinator any observed damage to, or requirement for maintenance or repair to, street furniture or other Council property.****:

- **Use and maintain appropriate equipment in order to undertake works in a safe manner in accordance with Council procedures and manufacturer’s operating instructions.***

This is a permanent full-time position based at the Alexandria Integrated Facility.

- **Proven supervisory experience in an operational and/or waste/cleansing environment.****:

- **Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate a multi-skilled team focused on the needs of the customer.****:

- **Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.****:

- **Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service.****:

- **Proven problem conflict resolution skills and a willingness to follow issues through to completion.****:

- **Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.****:

- **Proven performance and ability to achieve objectives and successfully meet project targets.****:

- **Proven ability to perform physical activities over a sustained period.**
