The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Payday Super represents a transformative opportunity to modernize the Super Guarantee (SG) system, addressing the estimated $5.1 billion in unpaid SG annually and improving retirement incomes for millions of Australians. It introduces a core requirement for employers to make super contributions to funds within seven calendar days of payday, significantly accelerating current processes.

The implementation of Payday Super involves extensive collaboration across the SG ecosystem, including employers, digital service providers, gateways, clearing houses, super funds, and the ATO. Preparations include adapting systems, workflows, and compliance practices to meet the faster pace required by the new system. Legislative changes are being developed by Treasury, while the ATO and industry stakeholders work proactively to align with upcoming requirements.

Key to this transition is the ATO's enhanced capability to match Single Touch Payroll data with super contribution reports. This allows for proactive compliance monitoring and faster intervention when employers fail to meet obligations, ensuring more timely contributions for workers. Payday Super will drive significant operational and cultural shifts within the superannuation industry, requiring readiness for faster data processing and regulatory responses.

The ATO is seeking a highly skilled Solution Designer to contribute to the successful implementation of the Payday Super initiative. This landmark program aims to modernize the Super Guarantee (SG) system, ensuring timely, accurate super contributions for millions of Australians. As a Solution Designer, you will be responsible for translating business requirements into detailed technical designs. You will work closely with stakeholders, architects, and development teams to design scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that align with legislative and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop detailed technical solution designs, including workflows, system interactions, and data flow diagrams, to meet program requirements.
- Ensure designs align with the architectural vision and comply with legislative and regulatory standards.
- Design integration solutions to enable seamless communication between SG ecosystem components, including payroll systems, clearing houses, super funds, and the ATO.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity in real-time processing environments.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable technical designs.
- Collaborate with developers and testers to ensure the accurate implementation of designed solutions.
- Ensure that designs adhere to security, privacy, and compliance standards.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with technical designs and their implementation.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams during the implementation phase.
- Address technical queries and ensure solutions are delivered on time and to specification.

Skills and Experience:

- Proven experience as a Solution Designer in complex IT environments, preferably within financial services or compliance-driven industries.
- Strong understanding of system integration, data design, and real-time processing solutions.
- Proficiency in creating technical documentation, including workflows, system diagrams, and data models.
- Familiarity with APIs, middleware, and data exchange protocols.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with superannuation systems or Single Touch Payroll processes.
- Knowledge of compliance and legislative-driven projects.
- Certification in relevant frameworks or methodologies (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL).

**HOW TO APPLY**

**NOTE**: You are not required to meet all the Key Responsibilities and Skills and Experience criteria. However, your level of achievement in these areas will determine the APS level and corresponding remuneration you qualify for.
