**Position Summary**

Shapes, mounts and fits optical lenses in eyeglasses by operating edging and blocking equipment, ensuring efficient and accurate production of prescription eyeglass orders at the optical lab.

**Job Duties/Essential Functions**
- Receives in lens & frame purchase orders from the US and domestically into the AS400 system.
- Co-ordinates the order flow of purchase orders / jobs in order of receipt, in a timely manner
- Uses edging equipment to trace, edge and fit lenses to specifications on frame order
- Use of lens meter in order to identify specifications to match the lens order
- Maintains and co-ordinates frame inventory
- Packs and ships all eyeglass purchase orders to each warehouse in a timely manner
- Provides dispensing advice and solutions to the warehouse, where required
- Assists in other areas of the department as necessary
- Assists in other departments of the company as necessary

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in eyeglass edging & fitting in a Lab environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Previous optical dispensinng experience desirable. Strong computer skills.
