As part of Ultra’s growing Sonar Program organisation, the Project Controller will provide Project Managers and Control Account Managers with guidance and advice on all aspects of project planning and control, including establishment of baselines, WBS and schedules and implementation of Earned Value Measurement and the Australian Defence standard for Cost Schedule Control System (CSCS) reporting.

Prospects and projects in the Sonar Program portfolio include sustainment of Ultra’s Integrated Sonar System (ISS) currently in service on the Hobart Class; the Royal New Zealand Navy’s Towed Sonar; the Royal Australian Navy’s Hunter Class Frigate Bow Sonar and Surface Ship Torpedo Defence System; Expendable and Towed Torpedo Countermeasures; and the Integrated Undersea Battlespace. You will be engaged in new and evolving sonar system technologies and solutions while collaborating with Ultra’s global network, reaching into the UK, Canada and the United States.
- Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (and supporting dictionaries/artefacts)
- Develop and maintain the Contract/Project Master Schedule
- Establishment and execution of an integrated baseline progress measurement, reporting and analysis framework and schedule

About you

You’ll bring high levels of personal motivation and drive, combined with:

- Multiple years of experience on medium to high complexity programs
- Proficiency in establishment and execution of project performance measurement techniques to AS4817 plus defence supplement
- Insight to PMBOK Project Management principles and processes
- Excellent analytical skills applied to all aspects of performance measurement and management
- Well-developed and practical communication and people development skills
- Familiarity and proficiency in Project Planning and Control tools and software, including MS Project or Open Plan Professional, COBRA, MS Word, MS Excel
