Sheet Metal Apprentice

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable First Year Apprentice to join our award-winning team at First Light Fabrication on the Sunshine Coast. This is your chance to gain hands-on skills, learn from experienced tradesmen, and build a career in a high-demand industry.

About Us

At First Light, we specialise in aluminium and stainless steel fabrication, with a strong focus on the marine industry. From premium fishing gear and marine accessories to custom fabrication for a broad range of boats, both fibreglass and aluminium.

If you love your boats, this is the place to be. With the help of our engineer, we're able to complete trolling motor mounts, hardtops, targa tops, roof extensions, custom bait boards, boarding cages and much more.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a first year apprentice, you’ll get hands-on training and support while working towards your trade qualification. Your role will include:

- Learning to weld through MIG & TIG process, both aluminium and stainless steel
- Helping operate our CNC Router & CNC Brake Press
- Assisting tradesman with fit out and installs
- Develop skills to use various hand tools, power tools and polishing equipment
- Contributing to a clean and safe working environment

How to Apply

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
