Purpose of Role
The Area Manager - is responsible for leading aftermarket business growth and customer engagement across a high-value territory in Western Australia. Based in Perth, this role focuses on managing major mining and processing accounts, ensuring strong customer partnerships, reliable service delivery, and continued revenue growth. With a 2025 aftermarket budget of $14m and projected growth into 2026, the role is central to maintaining and expanding Weir’s installed base while pursuing new opportunities in the region as they arise.

Key Responsibilities- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.- Account Management- Manage and grow key accounts across the assigned region.- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships through consistent engagement and service delivery.- Identify opportunities to increase aftermarket share across slurry pumps, cyclones, rubber products, valves, hoses and rotables.- Business Development- Support growth by identifying new opportunities in the assigned region.- Drive competitor displacement and secure new business when opportunities arise.- Position Weir as the preferred partner for aftermarket solutions.- Operational & Commercial Delivery- Deliver the aftermarket budget for the assigned region ($14m in 2025) and support growth beyond.- Ensure effective stock holding, service support, and process improvements.- Demonstrate leadership in Weir’s zero-harm safety culture and uphold company values in all customer interactions.
Education, Skills and Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience.- Strong background in sales, account management, or aftermarket operations within mining, heavy equipment, or industrial sectors.- Technical knowledge of slurry pumps, cyclones, rubber products, or related consumables is an advantage.- Proven ability to manage high-value accounts and grow business relationships.- Commercial acumen, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
