**Monash Children’s Paediatric ICU**

The Monash Children’s Hospital Paediatric ICU is a new, 10-bed, state-of-the-art unit that opened in 2018. It is one of only eight tertiary PICUs in Australia and one of two tertiary paediatric intensive care referral units for the State of Victoria. The unit is accredited by the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand and admits over 800 children a year with a broad range of general and subspecialty paediatric as well as surgical conditions.

The Monash Children’s PICU is led by a group of dedicated PICU consultants, an enthusiastic team of nurses and committed allied health professionals. We believe in supporting each other, in being kind and in providing the very best care to the children and families in our unit.

**About the Role - PICU Consultant (Casual)**

As a Paediatric ICU specialist, you are invited to contribute to the unit’s after-hours and weekend roster as well as to participate in the daytime roster if required and mutually agreed. When on clinical duty, you lead the PICU team in caring for some of sickest children in Victoria, collaborating closely with the supportive and committed junior and senior medical staff from across Monash Children's and Monash Health as well as with the state-wide retrieval service. Your work is challenging, varied, deeply meaningful and fulfilling.

**About You**

You are a qualified Paediatric Intensive Care Specialist and take pride in working collaboratively across a supportive multidisciplinary team to deliver excellence in family-centred care to critically ill children and young adults. You have:

- Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine or equivalent
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Appropriate health professional tertiary qualifications
- Working with Children’s Certificate
