Functions Supervisor

This is an exciting opportunity to join the management team of the award-winning BMD Northcliffe Surf Club. For this new role we are searching for 2 Functions Supervisors who will work directly with our Functions Coordinator to deliver exceptional experiences for our members and guests. You will have an amazing work life balance with a favourable 4 day on 4 day off roster - which means you will know every day you are working for the rest of time

The 8-week roster cycle means you only work

Week 1-3 - 3 weekends on

Week 4 - Saturday on/Sunday off

Week 5-7 - 3 weekends OFF

Week 8 - Saturday off/Sunday on

So technically, you only work 26 weekends out of 52 each year.

Not only do you have the best roster available in the hospitality industry, but you will also be paid for every hour worked and OVERTIME RATES for every minute over your 38 hour weekly average plus all relevant allowances and penalty rates. Say goodbye to unfair salary arrangements, unpaid overtime and working every weekend of the year. Your predicted annual income will be at least $60,000 depending on the amount of overtime you work.

The successful applicant will be an energetic and positive supervisor who has a passion for functions and events. Along with supervisory and events experience you will have worked in restaurant and beverage operations.

Our newly renovated Club has an inviting and fresh new look and offers something for everyone including a large bistro seating 300 people, a large outdoor Deck area that is fully weatherproof and the perfect function space, a generous bar pouring fresh wine on tap and Balter XPA tank beer, KENO, a large TAB area and a beautifully designed gaming room with 49 gaming machines.
Located at the southern end of Surfers Paradise, our venue is a popular choice for visitors and locals of the Gold Coast, attracting over 5,000 customers weekly with over 13,000 members.

**Job Details**:

- On the day function coordination including setting up and packing down of the function space and operating TV and AV equipment
- Liaising with customers on the day of their function
- Confidently handling any last-minute requests and issues
- Working closely with the kitchen team, keeping open and clear communication lines at all times
- Food and beverage service which includes carrying multiple plates
- Finalising function accounts and taking payment
- Delegating and coordinating staff
- Dealing confidently with face to face enquiries, compliments and complaints
- Assisting with day to day reservations and enquiries
- Providing administration support and back-up to the Functions Coordinator which may include but is not limited to answering function enquiries and creating run sheets
- Assisting with general food and beverage operations and management when required

This is a very hands-on role that will have you executing functions and participating in all aspects of service to always ensure that we are meeting the expectations of our members and guests.

Your strong hospitality experience combined with dedication, enthusiasm and hard work will be appreciated and nurtured.

**About you**:

- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
- Proven experience working in functions/events
- Strong customer focus and a passion for hospitality
- Exceptional ability to prioritise, problem solve and work well under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be proactive and anticipate guest needs
- Has a positive approach to working within a team and encouraging colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation
- Possess outstanding people skills with the ability to interact with and manage a range of different personalities
- Happy to work days, nights, weekends and school holidays
- RSA and RSG essential

**Salary**: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
