**The Role**
The Diplomatic Clearance Officer (DIPA) is employed by Headquarters Air Command (HQAC) and works within the Air and Space Operations Centre (AOC) on the Combat Operations Division (COD) floor within Headquarters Joint Operations Command (HQJOC). DIPA (Diplomatic Clearance Administration) is the single point of contact for the coordination and management of diplomatic clearances for all Australian State aircraft out of Australia, and for granting approval for foreign state aircraft to overfly and land in Australian territory, via close coordination with requesting agencies and foreign diplomatic posts. The role is located in Bungendore - NSW.

**About our Team**
DIPA is responsible for the following functions:

- Processing Diplomatic Clearances for Australian State aircraft proceeding overseas, and foreign military and state aircraft coming into Australian territory.
- Checking itineraries for overseas tasks using aeronautical information charts and Flight Planning Tools.
- Liaising with Foreign Embassies and High Commissions and Departmental/ADF elements on diplomatic clearance issues and issues concerning aspects of military movements.
- Coordinating advice to visiting crews on air route suitability, Australian requirements and local regulations.
- Coordinate annual diplomatic clearances for both ADF aircraft and Foreign State aircraft.
- Maintaining relevant international civil aviation and foreign military international publications, records and documentation as appropriate.

This will include:

- Manipulate databases and take responsibility whilst working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Sound judgement, attention to detail, and analytical skills to solve problems.
- You will require initiative and ability to effectively and autonomously manage priorities, organise workloads and meet challenging deadlines.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing often under significant time pressure, to a diverse audience across multiple time zones.
- Listen and understand the needs of stakeholders.
