As our Buyers Assistant you will project manage the end-to-end buying process with a focus on new product launches, ensuring timely delivery and world-class execution.
You will support the Buyer by capturing and realizing their vision across all aspects of the product implementation. You will maintain critical documentation, including the visual range plan, and serve as the key point of contact for suppliers, facilitating reorders, quality control, and issue resolution to ensure seamless operations across the supply chain.
On any given day you will be responsible for;
- Translating the Buyer's vision into actions and drive outcomes across key departments such as graphic design, photography, copywriting, in-store visual merchandising, sales, marketing, planning and production operations.
- Product management including new product registration and maintaining accurate master data for products and suppliers.
- Maintain the Buy Sheet ensuring product information, MOQs, photos and forecasting data is up to date at all times.
- Purchase Order execution, tracking and following up orders and verifying invoices against POs.
- Primary point of contact for suppliers, managing relationships and communication to ensure orders are delivered on time.
- Collaborate with the Buyer to source products, suppliers, and manufacturers that align with the product range plan.
- Coordinate the sampling process, including testing, feedback, and storage.
- Maintain and update the visual range plan document, ensuring accurate and current product information, including photos, specifications, and MOQs.
- Project manage the development, sourcing, and implementation of new products from inception to launch.
- Oversee quality control processes and conduct quality checks on all inbound orders for spice, merchandise, consumables and packaging, managing faulty or quarantined items.
The position is based at our head office on Rokeby Street in Collingwood. Flexible hours, approximately 30 hours per week across 4-5 days.

- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in buying, production, or product development
- A tertiary qualification or equivalent in Supply, Merchandising, Logistics or a related field (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and inventory systems (Cin 7 preferred)
