This role is responsible for supporting the Store Manager in all operational aspects of the store. This role is accountable for running the day-to-day operations of the floor, while ensuring that customers are serviced through the correct dispatch of products, and/or through support at the front end of the store. The Store Operations Manager will take an active lead in recruiting and training team members, ensuring the safe operation of the store and ensuring effective and efficient communication to the customer and the team. **In this Role You Will be** - Support the Store Manager to manage sale of stock to ensure targeted sales margins are achieved - Generate sales to meet weekly budget and YTD budget targets - Manage the training and conduct of all store operations team members - Manage operational staff wages spend to the required % of sales on a weekly basis, to meet YTD budget - Review KRONOS exception reports and sign off on payroll for operational team members - Manage daily operations and team members to ensure the store is faced, the store is clean and safe - Retain all current customers and grow new customer base on a yearly basis - Undertake tool box talks and team huddles with operational team members at least once a week - Manage store security standards by following all Company policy and procedures relating to store security - Ensure all operational team members comply with and follow OH&S policies and procedures, food safety procedures **You’re Likely a Match** - Experience in a similar role with excellent knowledge of wholesale / retail operations within grocery /Confectionery or Hospitality (Foodservice & Liquor) industry - Excellent customer service skills - Possesses leadership, communication and motivational skills and techniques - Advanced understanding of OH&S, HACCP and EEO policies, procedures and legislations - Excellent negotiation skills with relevance to supplier deals and customers - High organizational skills - Ability to persuade and sell - Make sound decisions - Business / commercial / financial acumen **Life at Metcash** Experience a supportive and flexible work environment.
