We help local state and federal governments find, collect, store and use traffic data by managing equipment and performing surveys.
**About the role**
We're expanding our Survey Teams and seeking a Traffic Survey Field Installer who enjoys being on the road, conducting fieldwork, and is skilled in handling tools and equipment with confidence. The job requires outdoor work in a busy traffic environment on a regular basis. The work will be performed during day and night throughout the week, including occasional weekend shifts. Overnight stays are possible if the work required is in a rural with allowances provided.
**Responsibilities**
Installation of traffic equipment.
Ensure installation is carried out according to map and instructions and complete scheduled survey tasks within the specified dates/times.
Report all road side traffic equipment related issues to survey team.
Ensure that all equipment is properly tracking or recording necessary sources (such as vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, etc.) and collecting data accurately upon job completion.
Ensure survey vehicle are well maintained by promptly reporting any service, maintenance or damage.
Ensure that all survey equipment is handled with care, undergoes a pre-loading inspection, and upon return, is properly sorted for maintenance or reuse.
Monitor data quality and promptly address any errors or faults, ensuring that they are reported accordingly.
**Skills and experience**
Comfortable using power tools (electronic drill and etc.)
Comfortable with technology (using mobile and computer for retrieving and recording information)
Construction Induction Safety certificate (White Card)
Experience in installation of automatic traffic counters (desirable)
Traffic control background (desirable) but this is NOT a Traffic Control job.
High level of communication and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.
**Requirements**:
A current Australian driver’s licence (manual) with no restrictions.
Have own transport.
Have the right to work in Australia.
Flexible working hours including an ability to work away from home as needed.
The position is currently casual, but could potential lead to a full time job.
Base rate of $30 - $40 per hour depending on the experience.
**Job Types**: Casual, Seasonal
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
