Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.

John Holland is GoldlinQ's recommended design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7 kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.

Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education, and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast’s expected population growth in the coming decades.

**We're Hiring**:
The GCLR Stage 3 Safety Team are currently recruiting for a WHS Advisor specialising in QLD Traffic Management.

This is a key role within Safety Team in that you will be providing general safety advice and support to the delivery team as well as working with traffic control organisations providing operational support with traffic and pedestrian management

**Key Responsibilities will include**:

- Monitor compliance with the safety systems and procedures, in particular traffic management within the workplace and provide operational support to the project management team.
- Research and implement project traffic management strategies specific to the project scope of works.
- Administer safety and traffic programs for project employees.
- Ensuring that Traffic Management Plans & TGSs are implemented in accordance with the relative standards for Queensland.
- Investigating all traffic incidents and community concerns which relate to traffic issues associated with their precincts
- Undertake a rigorous inspection and monitoring regime, schedule inspections to check effectiveness of controls against standards, guidelines, and specifications.
- Establish positive working relationships with project personnel and raise awareness of traffic and public safety risks.
- Assist in the development of communications tools and records for all project safety and traffic safety meetings.
- Establish and maintain personal competence in relation to the O&M and GoldlinQ’s SMS.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Gold Coast Light Rail Sustainability and wellbeing policies, processes, systems, and procedures including our Corporate Sustainability Framework.

**About you**:
Your qualifications and experience should include
- Level 2 TMI
- Diploma WHS (Enrolled)
- Construction safety or equivalent management (1+ years)
- 3 Years traffic management
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls
- Experience monitoring, reviewing, and reporting on performance, compliance and defects
- Skills in safety management techniques and tools
