**About the Opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a **Produce Specialist** based in Queensland. You will be the hub of Fresh Food Knowledge & Expertise in your field constantly driving sales for Metcash, Retailers and the consumer.

To be successful in this role you will need to be Brisbane based, with the knowledge that regional travel within QLD will be a requirement of the position.

**In this Role**
- Collaborate closely with Area Sales Managers to implement fresh food strategies and achieve operational standards.
- Coach and train the Retail Operations Team to ensure that they have a complete understanding of the Produce business
- Build relationships with retailers to establish trust and confidence around what you are trying to achieve.
- Advise on fresh food ranging, ticketing, new lines, catalogue compliance, and identify warehouse sales opportunities to improve both Metcash and retailers’ businesses.
- Understand trends and measures inside the retail industry and be able to benchmark the IGA retailer against those industry standards.
- Implement National & State Promotional Programs into stores as they launch throughout the year. - Constructive feedback to State and National teams regarding gaps and opportunities within the network

**You’re Likely a Match If**
- At least 5 years working in a Supermarket Produce Department or In-Store in other Fresh Department
- Ability to help train & coach owners, managers and their staff in the correct way to run and operate a Produce Department
- Good knowledge in Food Safety & Workplace Health & Safety
- Ability and skills to sell & merchandise product to independent stores
- Good commercial, negotiation and influencing skills
- Sound knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
