**About this role**
This role is designed to contribute to the development and the execution of our environmental It will be supporting the growth and development of the Arup environmental practice within South Australia.

**What will I do?**
- Drive the development of our environmental planning capacity in South Australia, including in relation to recruitment, appraisals, performance development, morale, and motivation of staff.
- Lead and input to a range of environmental-related projects and associated statutory approvals, either in support of a wider team or as the Environmental Lead. This will include small to large projects across a diverse range of sectors including transport, energy, water and resources.
- Lead the development of Arup’s Environmental Services offering within South Australia
- Lead the delivery of large complex environmental assessments and approvals mainly in South Australia and support similar projects in other Australian jurisdictions and to some extent the Australasian region. This will involve coordinating people and resources within tight timelines and in line with budgetary constraints
- Collaborate with Business Leaders to secure pipeline and negotiate major contracts.

**What will I bring?**
- Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or similar area.
- Relevant industry experience in a consulting, private industry or a government environment
- Experience in environmental planning, environmental management, and delivery of environmental assessments within South Australia.
- Project management and business development experience.
- Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
