**About the role**:
An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced **Laboratory Assistant** to join our **Shepparton Laboratory.**

**There are currently 56 hours/week available in Specimen Reception at our Shepparton Lab. The successful applicant(s) will be required to work on the extended roster, 7 days per week, as required. Full time, part time and casual will be considered.**

A Laboratory Assistant in a regional laboratory is responsible for facilitating effective and efficient performance of the Laboratory by providing non-technical duties within the laboratory as directed by the Head of Department, Senior Scientist or Laboratory Manager.

The Laboratory Assistant is expected to efficiently and accurately process specimens and requests for pathology testing, including data entry into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), and to prepare specimens for testing by the laboratory staff according to laboratory protocols and accreditation requirements.
