**About the opportunity**
You will be paid while you train at FutureFit Academy and become a qualified maintainer** **at BHP. These are permanent opportunities, and once successfully completing your studies, you will continue your employment with BHP based at one of our mine sites. We are currently offering opportunities at the FutureFit Academy for Maintenance Associate Traineeships in Mechanical Fitting (Fixed Plant). The training involves in learning how to maintain equipment such as Conveyors, Crushers, Screens, Apron Feeders, Chutes and more.

**Maintenance Associate Traineeships** are a 12 month training program based at the academy. Trainees study to become highly skilled and valued Maintenance Associates with BHP, completing a Certificate II in Engineering.

Upon successful completion of the Traineeship you will move into a Maintenance Assocaite's role. On site you could be from inspecting a running plant to a full shutdown situation where you will assist qualified trades people with major repairs or rebuilds.

**About you**
We’re looking for people from a broad range of backgrounds. Previous maintenance training is not necessary however you will have a genuine interest in fixing, repairing or tinkering.

To set you up for success, you will need:

- A high commitment to safety is a must
- A strong desire to learn and develop a range of new skills
- Motivation to achieve goals & enjoy a mixture of class room and hands-on learning
- Ability to live a safe travelling distance to the training centre - this is not a FIFO/DIDO role (whilst studying at the academy).
- Ability to attend a roster that rotates across early mornings, evenings and weekends
- To have the necessary personal support networks available to assist you in working the above roster
- Experience working on machinery/vehicles through a hobby or work is highly regarded, but not essential
