Canteen Assistant

At Vanilla Blue we are re-imagining the typical school canteen with our inspiring, nourishing and freshly prepared seasonal menu selection. We ensure the school canteen becomes the heart of each school and a hub of activity serving great food enjoyed by both students and staff every day.

We are seeking a **Canteen Assistant **in a **casual role** to join our team in a school in Strathfield - 2min walk from Strathfield train station.. This role is perfect for a cafe professional with children who wants school holidays off, or someone looking for a better work life balance.

**The Details**
- Casual role - **Monday to Friday, 3 - 5 days per week**:

- Occasional Saturday for school sport or events
- 21-35 hours per week
- Payrate $33-34 per hr plus super
- School Term only 40-42 weeks per calendar year
- Shift times between 7am - 4pm
- Support and career development

**Duties**
- Simple food preparation and presentation of sandwiches, toasties & salads
- Maintain high food safety standards
- Maintain kitchen/area cleanliness at all times
- Sorting and packing lunches
- Front of House service
- Use of a POS machine
- Barista experience highly regarded

**To be Successful**
- 1+ years canteen, café or QSR experience in a similar role
- Experience working in a fast-paced food service environment
- Ability to work in a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of various special diets requirements
- Good time management & punctuality
- Food Handlers certificate - would be favorable
- Current NSW Working with Children Check - required if you are successful
- Valid NSW Police Check - required if you are successful

- Canteen Assistants

If you are successful, you will require a Working with Children Check and NSW Police Check before commencement.
