We are currently seeking an energetic and flexible permanent part-time medical receptionist with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to join our busy team of general practitioners, practice nurses, and allied health staff.

The position is part-time, 2 days per week with additional hours required to cover staff leave, both planned and unplanned.

Usual hours will be Mondays & Fridays 8.15am - 1pm plus extra days/times when needed.

**About the role**
- Provide a range of administration and support services to all practitioners and allied services
- Facilitate patient flow by communicating with patients and clinical staff
- Maintain confidentiality of company operational, personnel and financial details as well as patient privacy
- Ensure all patients and visitors are greeted in a friendly, prompt, and helpful manner, either face to face or over the phone
- Maintain a high level of accuracy when recording and maintaining patient, clinic, and service information
- Ensure that medical or other billing is carried out correctly including batching and transmission for Medicare & Department of Veteran Affairs
- Answering patient enquiries both in person and over the phone
- Scheduling and confirming patient appointments
- Sorting Practice Mail
- Faxing, scanning, and allocating documents
- Cleaning and maintaining stock levels of GP's rooms
- Other administrative tasks and general duties.

- Be able to interact with patients and co-workers easily and in a friendly and confident manner
- Be able to change hours as required to cover shifts as required
- Have a calm and considered demeanour when under pressure

**Selection Criteria**
- Previous Medical Reception experience within a GP Practice
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate level computer literacy
- Satisfactory police check relevant to requirements of role
- Ability to provide effective customer service in a professional manner
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to take initiative, and to follow instructions
- Have an eye for detail and desire for things to be accurate and complete
- Versatility and flexibility essential.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Previous experience using Pracsoft & Medical Director is preferred but training is available

Pay: $25.00 - $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
