**The Site**

Gympie Aquatic Recreation Centre (ARC) is the flagship aquatic leisure centre for the Gympie Region. A community hub and support centre for our regional pools, this is an accessible and inclusive centre that assists with the health and wellness of our local community through the provision of a variety of programs. The facilities include a 25-metre year-round pool, a 50-metre seasonal pool, children’s splash park, seasonal adventure slides, gym, kiosk, café, function room, BBQ and picnic areas.

**The Role**

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and friendly lifeguards to join our team. You will have a passion for safety around water, be energetic, dynamic, outgoing, and fun. You will need outstanding communication skills and a commitment to excellent guest service.

Our team are responsible for the day-to-day pool operations within the facility, providing an enjoyable environment for guests. The primary responsibility is to provide safety and excellent service to our guests, in line with our mission, vision and values.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse range of guests, and a willingness to be part of our inclusive culture.

We have multiple casual positions available with the option to transfer to a part time position for the right employees. Your commitment and flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and increased hours during our peak operating seasons will be rewarded and recognised.

**Essential Skills and Attributes**:

- Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate - or willingness to obtain
- Current CPR Certificate - or willingness to obtain
- Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2) - or willingness to obtain
- Blue Card - or willingness to obtain
- National Police Check - or willingness to obtain
- Legal working rights in Australia
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to work mornings, evenings or weekends
- Ability to work effectively independently and as a valuable team member

**Desirable Skills - non-essential but highly regarded**:

- Previous experience in a comparable role
- Current Pool Operations Certificate
- Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Accreditation
- Certificate 3 in Fitness
- Aqua Instructor Certification
