Role

With a strong team culture for continuous development and learning, the Knowledge team provides research and search and registration support to all staff and offices through its centralised Knowledge Research service.

As part of Knowledge, you will join the highly regarded Research & Information (R&I) team, which provides legal and business research assistance, curated enews and other current awareness services, and a range of research training.

Reporting to the Head of Research & Information/ Research & Information Team Leader, supported by a wider team of nationally based Knowledge Consultants, you will become a trusted advisor for the Brisbane, Perth and Canberra sites, with a wide range of resources at your disposal.

How?

Based in the Brisbane CBD office, with a balanced approach to WFH, your key responsibilities will be to:

- Collaborate with Legal and Business Development teams to identify and support research and information needs.
- Deliver high-quality legal and business research using a range of Australian and international resources.
- Develop clear, insightful reports and presentations tailored to client and internal stakeholder needs.
- Create and maintain learning materials, guides, and e-learning content to build research capability across the firm.
- Present and facilitate training sessions and workshops for staff and clients.
- Monitor trends and developments to inform the firm and its clients of relevant legal and business intelligence.
- Curate and publish tailored news services for practice and sector teams.
- Advise on research strategies, tools and resources; continuously evaluate and improve research services.
- Contribute to technology implementation and enhancement for research and information delivery.
- Manage small projects and contribute to team knowledge sharing and development.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams and promote knowledge services across the firm.

Who are we looking for?

With your client centric approach, natural curiosity, ability to think laterally, and passion for research and the law, you will understand how valuable this role is to our practicing lawyers and business development team.

Your qualifications in law or information science will set the foundation for success. You will also need:

- Ability to translate technical knowledge into practical and actionable advice, demonstrating clarity of thought and correctly identifying and focusing on key issues.
- Outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to deliver to deadlines and self-manage and prioritise competing tasks.
- Excellent technical skills, including a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and legal research techniques, including the appropriate use generative AI.
- Experience with legal and business research systems.
- Experience with news aggregation and publishing systems.
- Enthusiasm for emerging technologies and a willingness to unlearn and learn new skills and ways of working.
- Curiosity and commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and change.
- Ability to build strong professional relationships within and outside the firm.
