This role is centred around our chilled and frozen stores, in addition to specialised picking of seafood orders for Victoria’s premium venues. With a clear career pathway, this is a great opportunity.
The work
- Managing stock availability and location in both chilled and frozen store.
- Separate fish in correct sizes and ice
- Rotate both fresh and frozen stock
- Updating online platform with stock availability status
- Ordering chilled and frozen stock from suppliers
- Maintaining supplier relationships
- Inventory management
- Completing monthly stocktakes and entering in to accounting software
- Investigating any stock variances
- Signing off PO’s and inbound supplier goods
- Picking and packing orders for customers, both fresh and frozen
- Operating machinery - forklift, cherry picker, vac pac machines
- Unloading and loading vehicles
- Checking quality of inbound and outbound stock
- Packing and weighing goods
- Managing stock location map and monitoring inventory balance
- Notifying management with product shortages
- Specialised picking of whole fish, fillets and portions to meet specific customer requirements
- Weighing, packing and labelling vac packed chilled stock in order to be frozen
- Purchasing fresh stock when in season to pack and freeze
- Checking individual customer orders and specs
- Understand requirements of specific customers and the technical order terms used
- Specialised picking of fresh and frozen seafood orders
- Inspecting and grading Seafood of inbound and outbound stock
- Processing Seafood for Company branded portion controlled vacuum sealed lines, packing in to cartons and moving to the freezer
- Overseeing picking, packing for both fresh and frozen seafood
- Train and mentor new employees in line with our training program
- Understand the spec and quality requirements for different customers
- Cleaning work areas, sanitising work areas
- Ensuring staff in your area are wearing correct PPE and working hygienically
- Report any seafood that has failed quality inspection to management
- Pick, pack and label orders for different customers - hospitality, wholesalers, home delivery, catering
- Physically fit and able to work in a cold environment
**_Key Attributes_**
- Forklift Licence
- Qualifications and Experience required: Minimum 2 years' experience in similar role ideally in seafood industry
- Thorough attention to detail
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to motivate and lead a team
- Exceptional communication skills
- The ability to work well under pressure
- To be able to carry out tasks on a computer or hand-held device
**Salary**: $75,000 - $85,000

Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Morning shift
- Rotating roster
