**Job Title**: NDIS Speech Pathologist
**Location**: Northern Territory, Australia (Remote Communities)
**Position Type**: Full-time / Part-time / Contract (Flexible)

**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Speech and Swallowing Assessments**:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for individuals with communication difficulties, including speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Complete assessments related to swallowing, including videofluoroscopy and other diagnostic tools as required.
- Develop individualized therapy plans based on assessment results to meet clients' needs.
- **Assistive Technology Assessment**:
- Assess clients for the need for speech-generating devices or other assistive communication technologies.
- Provide recommendations and training for clients and their families on the use of speech assistive technologies.
- **Therapeutic Interventions**:
- Develop and implement evidence-based therapy interventions for speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
- Provide therapy both in person and via telehealth where necessary, adapting to the needs of the community.
- **NDIS Support**:
- Work in accordance with NDIS legislation and policies, ensuring that services are provided in a manner that aligns with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework.
- Complete NDIS progress reports, reviews, and documentation, ensuring all records are accurate and meet NDIS standards.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, NDIS plan managers, and participants to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
- **Cultural Competency**:
- Work with a strong understanding and respect for Aboriginal culture and traditions, adapting services to meet the unique needs of individuals from Aboriginal communities.
- Engage with community leaders, families, and support networks to provide culturally sensitive therapy and enhance client outcomes.
- **Collaboration and Community Engagement**:
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic care.
- Provide training and education to families and caregivers on communication strategies, swallowing techniques, and the use of assistive technologies.
**Essential Criteria**:
- **Qualifications**:
- A degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.
- Full membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) and a completed skills assessment by the Speech Pathology Australia Board.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
- **Experience & Skills**:
- Proven experience in conducting speech and swallowing assessments, and providing therapy for a wide range of speech and language disorders.
- Expertise in providing interventions for clients with complex needs, including communication and swallowing difficulties.
- Strong knowledge of NDIS processes, policies, and legislation, with experience in writing NDIS reports, plans, and reviews.
- Experience working with Aboriginal communities and a demonstrated understanding of cultural considerations in service delivery.
- Proficiency in the use of assistive technology for communication and swallowing support.
- **Desirable**:
- Experience working in remote or rural communities.
- Ability to work independently and autonomously in a mobile, flexible role.
- Experience in telehealth service delivery.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
