**The opportunity**
Our client is an Australian Federal Government organisation, who are currently looking for an experienced Cyber Security Specialist to join a long term program and major investment in modern digital technology.
- 12 month initial contract plus 2x12 month extensions, with rates negotiable
- Melbourne CBD based role
- Must be an Australian Citizen with Baseline security clearance or higher, ideally NV1

**Responsibilities**
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into the design and implementation of new systems and technologies
- Develop strategies to secure technologies from multiple eras
- Conduct cyber security assessments, vulnerability scans and pen testing to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities
- Build infrastructure and tooling to automate and move cyber security activities left

**About you**
To be successful in this role you will need:

- Significant experience as a technical Cyber Security Specialist or similar role with a strong understanding of technical cyber security principles, frameworks and best practice
- A broad skillset covering network security, intrusion detection/prevention, security assessment, vulnerability scans, penetration testing, etc
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage with a wide range of technical, non-technical, and senior leadership stakeholders
- Qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or similar, with certifications such as OSCP/GIAC/CREST highly desirable
- Must be an Australian Citizen with AGSVA security clearance, ideally NV1
